"Summer of El Fanfic" is the first segment of the twenty-sixth episode of the first season of Primos, and the fifty-first episode overall.
It released early on March 5, 2025 on Disney+ and officially premiered on April 13, 2025 on Disney Channel, alongside with Summer of Las Muralistas.
Synopsis[]
Tater writes a fanfic.
Plot[]
Tater and Serena have decided to write the ultimate Romancimorphs fanfic. The plan is to interchangeably write each chapter back and forth. Serena comes in with the first chapter which is lauded by Tater as she believes it to feel and sound like true Romancimorphs. As Serena hands over the next couple of pages, Tater sits down to try and write the next chapter, only to suddenly hit writer's block, or as she and the primos later dub it "creative constipation". Tater is perplexed by her inability to write anything and believes that she may not know the characters as well as she does, thinking that Serena has been carrying her this whole time.
Tater's insecurities as a writer manifests as the characters Capybara, Jaguar, and Grouse arguing over what Tater wants to do with them and how. Tater attempts to ask Gordita for help using her robot Gor3ta, but the robot only reproduces babble that took whatever they wrote and redirects it in a different manner. She asks Scooter, Big Nacho, and Lita how they manage to get anything "perfect" on the first try, but they tell her that it takes several tries to get the right thing. This culminates in Big Nacho setting off a farting match that leaves Tater flustered and no further at figuring out her story.
Tater's time for writing the next chapter is up and she ends back to Café S'il Vous Plaît with nothing to show for it. As Serena comes and asks Tater how things have been, she admits that she cannot come up with the writer story and calls herself a fraud. Serena tells Tater to close her eyes and imagine she is watching a movie. At that moment, Tater is finally able to come up with a proper story to continue their Romancimorphs fanfic. Serena explains to Tater that the reason her chapter was so perfect was because she wrote several different versions that didn't work and that it takes time to perfect. Tater finally understands the process of creativity.
