"Summer of La Cultura" is the first segment of the twenty-second episode of the first season of Primos, and the forty-third episode overall.
It released early on March 5, 2025 on Disney+ and officially premiered on March 16, 2025 on Disney Channel, alongside with Summer of Santa Tabi.
Synopsis
Tater discovers there's more to culture than what meets the eye.
Plot
The Ramirez-Humphrey-Perez family is taking part in the Latin cultural day festival with everyone attending, except for Bibi who is staying at home and having time to herself. Tater has opted to wear a traditional cultural dress to best represent her family. She takes great pride in her Mexican roots, despite Toñita pointing out that not only does she still not know Spanish, she also doesn't know how to properly write her own name (putting an accent above the 'z' instead of the 'i'). Nevertheless, Tater insists that her "cultural blood" will allow her to be embraced by all traditional Mexican traditions and activities.
The T Sisters decide to show Tater their traditional salsa dancing. When Tater tries it however, she is shown to have two left feet and falls off the stage. Next the Nachos teach Tater how to play with a bolero (wooden ball on a stick). While Tater has fun with it, she finds the game tricky and practically knocks herself out. She next attempts to prove her tolerance for spicy salsa, but discovers too late that Buela has only been giving Tater mild salsa and not pure hot ones, something Gordita is better at. Tater attempts to help make tortillas, but her excitement causes her to accidentally get their family disqualified.
Tater is saddened at the idea that she has no connection to her Mexican roots, further humiliated when she finds a burro who "earned" getting zebra stripes. Lita, Scooter, and Lucita find Tater and they learn her internal conflict. The three tell her that they are mixed (half-Mexican/half-Dominican) and at times feel out of touch with the latter. LotLot also admits that occasionally feels that she unable to express her Filipina half. Tater rejoins her family to make crafts when she learns that her large mistake tortilla inadvertently created an image of Pedro Infante. Tater's family is honored for the reference, though Tater doesn't know who he is.

- This episode reveals that the Ramirez family are ethnically Mexican. *Lucita, Scooter, and Lita are half Mexican, with the other half Domincan, while LotLot is confirmed to also be half Filipina.
