"Summer of The Baby Races" is the first segment of the eleventh episode of the first season of Primos, and the twenty-first episode overall.
It premiered on August 24, 2024 alongside with Summer of La Extraterrestre.
Synopsis
Tater enters Little Bud in a race against the Richterville snobs.
Plot
Tater is looking for her Romancimorphs t-shirt and discovers that it has been used as a diaper for Baby Bud. This infuriates Tater as her parents attempt to apologize, as they ran out of diapers, something that is apparently an issue for them. Buela reveals that every year, the neighboring town of Fresadena holds the Baby Races with the winner receiving a life time's supply of diapers. She entered her children years ago, but they always lost to the snobby inhabitants on that end, which she blames on cheating. Tater sees that Baby Bud is incredibly fast, inspiring her to enter him into the race, but the entire family either do not have faith or are disinterested in wanting to help.
Tater and Buela convince Bibi to drive them, along with Baby Bud, to Fresadena to buy some high quality supplies. While over there, a snobby woman is offended at Baby Bud's antics and refers to Bibi as Baby Bud's "nanny". Bibi becomes angry and tells the woman off, accusing her of making a racial assumption. Enlivened by the event, the entire family finally pitches in to help train Baby Bud for the races with each primo contributing in some fashion. Worried about Baby Bud taking a nap during the race, Buela asks Gordita to make a "baby formula one" drink that glows green. Gordita tells her that that is simply vitamins.
The family attends the race with Baby Bud taking a fantastic lead and outrunning the competition. Buela, Bibi, and Tater argue over using the formula, but all the babies are disqualified or out of the race, leaving Baby Bud the only racer. Just as he reaches the finish line, he proceeds to take a nap. Tater gives a speech about how they wanted to prove themselves to the people of Fresadena, but has come to realize that they should be proud of themselves regardless of what others say. At that moment, a minor earthquake occurs, sending Baby Bud across the finish line and winning an immediate victory for the Ramirezes.

- This is the first episode where the title isn't directly read. It is Baby Bud simply babbling over the title.
- ChaCha's father's name is revealed in this episode: Javier.
- Buela's name is also revealed in this episode: Margarita.
- The episode's original description lists the rich part of town as Richterville, but within the episode it is referred to as Fresadena. Richterville is obviously meant to be a play on the fact that that side town is rich while Fresadena is meant to be a combination of the names Fresno and Pasadena.
